IonFusion
Surgical™ has developed a patented
orthopedic saw blade that outperforms traditional saw
blades. The blade has been designed to be consistently
sharper and to cut faster, cut cooler, stay sharper longer,
reduce risk of metalosis and reduce workload on the handpiece.
Laboratory testing shows significant performance improvements
and the blades have been extremely well received by Orthopedic
Surgeons. The blade is being sold into the U.S. market
directly by IonFusion Surgical™ under the brand name "IonFusion"
as a premium performance product.
General Description
 The
IonFusion® large bone saw blade is a Class I medical
device used for orthopedic procedures such as knee and
hip implant surgery. The IonFusion® blade is manufactured
from the highest quality surgical stainless steel and
machined to exacting tolerances. The blade teeth are treated
with Durium™ to enhance the blade performance. The
Durium™ material is very hard, lubricious, inert, and wear
resistant. These properties combine for improved cutting
performance. Every IonFusion® blade is identified with
its own unique serial number to allow for product traceability
down to the individual unit. The IonFusion® blade is also
easily distinguished from common blades by the "golden
edge".
Laboratory Testing
 The
IonFusion® saw blade has been extensively tested in
the laboratory to show the enhanced performance of the
blade. Critical operating features such as cutting time,
blade temperature, handpiece amperage draw, and blade
wear, etc. are recorded on IonFusion's custom built
testing  equipment.
The test equipment is designed to eliminate operator-induced
variables and to provide objective test data. A cylindrically
shaped biomechical test material is used as the test media
in the saw blade testing. The composite material simulates
the geometry and abrasiveness of the hard cortical bone
shell and the inner cancellous material.
Test results show consistent performance upgrades across
a variety of saw blade designs. IonFusion has chosen
a diamond tooth design for its own blade with unique
lightening holes. The following links show the test

have been extremely well received by Surgeons, particularly
Orthopedic and Plastic Surgeons. The blade is being marketed
in the U.S. medical market by DeRoyal under the brand
name "IonFusion" as a premium performance product.

is manufactured from high quality surgical stainless steel,
is machined to exacting tolerances and is available in
a variety of industry standard sizes. The cutting edge
incorporates proprietary edge geometry to take full advantage
of the IonFusion Technology™. The blade is treated with
Durium™, a very hard, lubricious, inert and wear
resistant material that combines for improved cutting
performance.
Laboratory Testing
 The
IonFusion® surgical scalpel blade has been extensively
tested in the lab to show the enhanced performance of
the blade. Critical blade features such as initial sharpness
and edge retention are recorded on IonFusion's custom
built testing equipment. The test equipment is designed
to eliminate operator-induced variables and to provide
